Paeonia Mascula

I just wanted to share a photo of Israels native Paeonia, P. mascula. This Paeonia only flowers for one week of the year but the flowers are worth the wait. A brilliant pink single flower is punctuated by a central cluster of yellow anthers. Catching the dappeled sun under Quercus ithaburensis in the Botanical Garden they look fantastic.
